The May 12 Wenchuan Earthquake struck Chinese people’s heart; it is also a heartache of all employees of Sinopharm Foreign Trade. The devastated buildings, the injured people, every suffering occurred in the disaster-stricken area hurt people’s heart. On the afternoon of May 19, all employees gathered in the Multifunctional Hall of the company and mourned for the earthquake victims. Time froze at 14:28, the very time that the earthquake happened seven days before. Everyone stood in silence for three minutes to mourn for the victims and people suffering in Sichuan. Tears falling, everyone was stricken silent by the tremendous suffering borne by our compatriots in the disaster-stricken area. The heartbreak continued, unrelenting, but our Chinese people shall never be overwhelmed by sorrow; we shall rise up to the disaster and use our utmost effort to help the suffered rebuild their homes. For all the staff of Sinopharm Foreign Trade, we shall make immediate response to the Party Committee’s appeal by doing best in our own job and making our own contribution to the disaster relief.
