Three days after the May 12 earthquake, National Development and Reform Commission made a demand to Sinopharm Group: to purchase necessary medical equipment for disaster relief in Sichuan, including respiratory machine, bedside X-ray machine, patient monitors and hospital beds. This task was assigned to China National Medical Equipment Industry Corporation, a subsidiary of the Group, as the main undertaker; the Group entrusted Sinopharm Foreign Trade and China National Medical Equipment Industry Corporation to co-fulfill this allocation task.

Since the quantity of the machine in need was huge and many of them were not enlisted in the reserved product list, it was a difficult task to prepare the products on such short notice.  Medical Care Project Dept is the department undertaking the job this time.  Ms. Sang Li, the Manager, along with her team members Ms. Li Mingyu, Mr. Huang Zhe and Mr. Gao Lei, devoted themselves in the task. On receiving the task, the team sacrificed their weekends and worked round the clock for four days.  During these days, they have been busy searching the products, negotiating with potential manufacturers, examining their credits so as to ensure high quality and reasonable price.  Thanks to the efforts they have made, all required medical equipment were timely transported to the disaster area.
